Bread + Wine Town Hall Meeting
We are going to host town hall meeting Wednesday, April 8 at 7 PM. We will look at where we’re headed as a community in the next year and share a little about how the business of our church operates.
We’d also love to hear your thoughts and questions. To hear from as many as possible, we’re asking everyone to write down their thoughts to the following questions:
What do you love about Bread & Wine?
Where would you like to see growth or change in the next year?
We look forward to seeing everyone!
Spiritual Formation Workshop -Prayer
On April 11, from 2-6 PM, we are hosting a workshop on the wide world of prayer, borrowed from some of the oldest Christian traditions. Come discover more about how to make ourselves available to God’s presence.
2nd Street Pantry
We have a partnership with the 2nd Street Pantry in downtown Bentonville out of the UMC church. One of the ways we partner with them is financial--they are able to purchase groceries at a greater discount than we can, so money goes farther than food donations. You can participate by going to our website: BreadandWine.Church/Giving and select the “Care Fund.” The money goes directly to the Pantry.
Additionally, you can volunteer for their Tuesday distributions by emailing 2ndstreetpantry@gmail.com and letting them know you’re from Bread & Wine and would like to volunteer.
Lyrics
We Will Never See the End
Verse 1
Where can we run, Where can we hide
That You will not find us
Deepest of depths, Highest of heights
Your love, it chases us
No matter where we've been, No matter what we've done
We can't escape Your love
Chorus
We will never see the end, We will never see the end
Of Your goodness
We will never see the end, We will never see the end
Of Your goodness
Verse 2
Though we pass through the fire, Or we pass through the flood
You will be with us
Though we walk through the valley, The darkest of night
Your love will be our light
And when we are in plenty, Or we are in want
You will always be enough
Chorus
We will never see the end, We will never see the end
Of Your goodness
We will never see the end, We will never see the end
Of Your goodness
(Repeat)
Bridge
In our darkest hours, On our hardest days
We do not have to be afraid
For You will never leave, You will not forsake
The promises that You have made
(Repeat)
Chorus
We will never see the end, We will never see the end
Of Your goodness
We will never see the end, We will never see the end
Of Your goodness

And all the hearts who are content
And all who feel unworthy
And all who hurt with nothing left
Will know that You are holy

And all will sing out, Hallelujah
And we will cry out, Hallelujah
And all will sing out, Hallelujah
And we will cry out, Hallelujah

Shout it; Go on and scream it from the mountains
Go on and tell it to the masses; That He is God
(Repeat)

And all will sing out, Hallelujah
And we will cry out, Hallelujah
And all will sing out, Hallelujah
And we will cry out, Hallelujah
Peace
Verse 1
When my mind is like a battlefield, and I am overcome by fear
And hope seems like a ship that’s lost at sea
My enemies on every side, and I’m tempted to run and hide
Your gentle whisper reaches out to me
Chorus
Peace, holds me when I’m broken
Sweet peace, that passes understanding
When the whole wide world is crashing down I fall to my knees
And breathe in your peace
Verse 3
Fiery arrows whistling, the terror of the night sets in
But I can feel your angels all around
I am resting underneath the shelter of your mighty wings
Your promises are where my hope is found
Chorus
You give me peace, holds me when I’m broken
Sweet peace, that passes understanding
When the whole wide world is crashing down I fall to my knees
And breathe in your peace

Prayer
4 Movements:
Centering Focus - Reflection and Petition - Lord’s Prayer - A Prayer for the First Sunday of Eastertide
Centering Focus - Apostle’s Creed
I believe in God, the Father, Almighty, creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord.
He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary.
He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried.
He descended to the dead.
On the third day he rose again.
He ascended into heaven, and is seated at teh right hand of the Father.
He will come again to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic Church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting. Amen.
Note: Here,“catholic” means universal, as in “the whole Church.”
Reflection and Petition
(Open your life to God and say whatever needs to be said)
The Lord’s Prayer
Our Father in heaven, may your name be revered as holy.
May your kingdom come.
May your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.
And do not bring us to the time of trial, but rescue us from evil.
A Prayer for the First Sunday of Eastertide
Resurrected Lord, you whom death could not conquer, make dry bones lives, awaken deadened minds, revive barren hearts, restore broken relationships, and make streams appear in the wastelands of our lives, we pray, so that we might experience your resurrection power this day and praise you wiht shouts of joy.
We pray this in the name of Jesus, the One who raises us up to new life. Amen.
Scripture
Acts 10:34-43
34 Then Peter began to speak: “I now realize how true it is that God does not show favoritism 35 but accepts from every nation the one who fears him and does what is right. 36 You know the message God sent to the people of Israel, announcing the good news of peace through Jesus Christ, who is Lord of all. 37 You know what has happened throughout the province of Judea, beginning in Galilee after the baptism that John preached— 38 how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power, and how he went around doing good and healing all who were under the power of the devil, because God was with him.
39 “We are witnesses of everything he did in the country of the Jews and in Jerusalem. They killed him by hanging him on a cross, 40 but God raised him from the dead on the third day and caused him to be seen. 41 He was not seen by all the people, but by witnesses whom God had already chosen—by us who ate and drank with him after he rose from the dead.42 He commanded us to preach to the people and to testify that he is the one whom God appointed as judge of the living and the dead. 43 All the prophets testify about him that everyone who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins through his name.”
