Cornerstone/ Guiding Light
Verse 1

My hope is built on nothing less, than Jesus' blood and righteousness
I dare not trust the sweetest frame, but wholly trust in Jesus' Name

Christ alone cornerstone
Weak made strong in the Saviour's love
Through the storm he is Lord, Lord of all

Verse 2
When darkness seems to hide his face, I rest on His unchanging grace
In every high and stormy gale, my anchor holds within the veil
My anchor holds within the veil

Christ alone cornerstone
Weak made strong in the Saviour's love
Through the storm he is Lord, Lord of all

Guiding Light Chorus
When I need to get home, you're my guiding light
You're my guiding light (Repeat)

GL Chorus
When I need to get home, you're my guiding light
You're my guiding light (Repeat)

Lord keep me on and leave me strong
Like the road I walk on

The Love of God

Hallelujah, Hallejah, Praise the One, the Risen Son of God

Verse 1
The love of God is greater far than tongue or pen can ever tell;
it goes beyond the highest star, and reaches to the lowest hell.
The guilty pair, bowed down with care, God gave His Son to win;
His erring child He reconciled, and pardoned from his sin.

Verse 2
Could we with ink the ocean fill, and were the skies of parchment made;
were ev’ry stalk on earth a quill, and ev’ryone a scribe by trade;
to write the love of God above would drain the ocean dry;
nor could the scroll contain the whole, though stretched from sky to sky.

Refrain
O Love of God, how rich and pure, how measureless and strong
It shall forevermore endure the saints and angels song.

Hallelujah, Hallejah, Praise the One, the Risen Son of God
(Repeat)

May You Be Well
This is a prayer of blessing in song.

We will repeat 4 times, meditating on a face each time
1. Someone easy to love 2. Someone we don’t know well
3. Someone it’s hard to sing this to 4. For all that is

Chorus
May you be well, living in peace
May you feel loved, happy, and free
I open my heart to wherever you are
‘Cuz here in the heart of Love,
There’s room for us all

The Beatitudes (NTFE)
Blessings on the poor in spirit! The kingdom of heaven is yours.
Blessings on the mourners! You’re going to be comforted.
Blessings on the meek! You’re going to inherit the earth.
Blessings on people who hunger and thirst for God’s justice!
You’re going to be satisfied.

Blessings on the merciful! You’ll receive mercy yourselves.
Blessings on the pure in heart! You will see God.
Blessings on the peacemakers! You’ll be called God’s children.
Blessings on people who are persecuted because of God’s saving plan!
The kingdom of heaven belongs to you.

Blessings on you, when people slander you and persecute you, and say all kinds of wicked things about you falsely because of me! 12 Celebrate and rejoice: there’s a great reward for you in heaven. That’s how they persecuted the prophets who went before you.

The Lord’s Prayer

Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil.
For yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen.

Scripture

Matthew 5:21-26
On murder and reconciliation

Matt. 5:21 “You heard that it was said to the ancient people, ‘You shall not murder’; and anyone who commits murder shall be liable to judgment. 22 But I say to you that everyone who is angry with his brother shall be liable to judgment; anyone who uses foul and abusive language will be liable to the lawcourt; and anyone who says, ‘You fool,’ will be liable to the fires of Gehenna.

23 “So, if you are coming to the altar with your gift, and there you remember that your brother has a grievance against you, 24 leave your gift right there in front of the altar, and go first and be reconciled to your brother. Then come back and offer your gift.

25 Make friends with your opponent quickly, while you are with him in the street, in case your opponent hands you over to the judge, and the judge to the officer, and you find yourself being thrown into jail. 26 I’m telling you the truth: you won’t get out until you’ve paid every last copper coin.”

Consider

1. Is there a person—or a version of a conflict—that you've pushed down and
justified instead of reconciled? What has it cost you?

2. What would it look like to leave from here and go start to reconcile your
resentments and with the people you’re resenting?

Prayer

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace:
where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
where there is sadness, joy.

O divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek
to be consoled as to console,
to be understood as to understand,
to be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive,
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.

Amen.
