Sunday Service

Opening Prayer

Most merciful Father, we humbly thank you for all your gifts to us; for life and health and safety, for strength to work and leisure to rest and play, for all that is beautiful in creation and human life; but above all we thank you for Jesus—who is our Savior and Friend, Brother, Teacher, and Lord—Jesus, you are the hope we share.

Give us an awareness of your mercies toward us so with truly thankful hearts we may worship you well and, in your honor, feast and remember. Amen.

Lyrics

His Banner Over Me

Verse 1

He brought me to His banqueting table (echo)
He brought me to His banqueting table (echo)
And His banner over me is love

Verse 2

I am my beloved's and He is mine (echo)
Yes, I am my beloved's and He is mine (echo)
And His banner over me is love
Yes His banner over me, over me, is love

Chorus

And we can feel the love
Of God in this place
We believe in Your goodness
We receive Your grace
We delight ourselves at Your table
Oh God, You do all things well
Just look at our lives

Goodness of God

Verse 1

I love You, Lord
Oh, Your mercy never failed me
And all my days, I've been held in Your hands
From the moment that I wake up
Until I lay my head
Oh, I will sing of the goodness of God

Chorus

All my life You have been faithful
All my life You have been so, so good
With every breath that I am able
Oh, I will sing of the goodness of God

Verse 2

I love Your voice
You have led me through the fire
In darkest night You are close like no other
I've known You as a Father
I've known You as a Friend
Oh, I have lived in the goodness of God, oh-oh-oh

Chorus

And all my life You have been faithful
All my life You have been so, so good
With every breath that I am able
Oh, I will sing of the goodness of God

Bridge

Your goodness is running after, it's running after me
Your goodness is running after, it's running after me
With my life laid down, I'm surrendered now
I give You everything
'Cause Your goodness is running after, it's running after me (repeat)

Chorus

And all my life You have been faithful
All my life You have been so, so good
With every breath that I am able
Oh, I will sing of the goodness of God

Litany of Thanksgiving

Let us give thanks to God our Father for all his gifts so
freely given us.

For the beauty and wonder of your creation, in earth and
sky and sea.
We thank you, Lord.

For all grace given in the lives of your people,
revealing the image of Christ,
We thank you, Lord.

For our daily food and drink, our homes and families, and
our friends,
We thank you, Lord.

For minds to think, and hearts to love, and hands to serve,
We thank you, Lord.

For health and strength to work, and leisure to rest and play,
We thank you, Lord.
For the brave and courageous, who are patient in suffering
and faithful in adversity,
We thank you, Lord.

For all who are seekers after truth, liberty, and justice,
We thank you, Lord.

For the communion of saints, in all times and places,
We thank you, Lord.

Above all, we give you thanks for the great mercies and
promises given to us in Christ Jesus our Lord;
To him be praise and glory, with you, O Father, and the
Holy Spirit, now and forever. Amen.

Scripture

1:11 May you be made strong with all the strength that comes from his glorious power, so that you may have all endurance and patience, joyfully 12 giving thanks to the Father, who has enabled you to share in the inheritance of the saints in the light.

1:13 He has rescued us from the power of darkness and transferred us into the kingdom of his beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. 15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation, 16 for in him all things in heaven and on earth were created, things visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or powers--all things have been created through him and for him.

1:17He himself is before all things, and in him all things hold together.

1:18He is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, so that he might come to have first place in everything.

1:19For in him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell,

1:20and through him God was pleased to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, by making peace through the blood of his cross.

Lyrics

Jesus, Lord of Heaven

The grace that You have given or the promise of Your word
Lord, I stand in wonder at the sacrifice You made

With mercy beyond measure, my debt You freely paid

Your love is deeper than any ocean
Higher than the Heavens reaches beyond the stars in the sky
Jesus, Your love has no bounds
Jesus, Your love has no bounds

Verse 2

Higher than the Heavens reaches beyond the stars in the sky
And Your love is deeper than any ocean
Higher than the Heavens reaches beyond the stars in the sky
